Greetings NaturalReign Village! The time is here as we embark again on a journey we've been moving in since 2003 with NaturalReign. For those that don't know me, I am Maat S. H. Dey. I'm the resident natural hair stylist here. I graduated from high school in 2000 with my cosmetology license in hand. I was never a fan of perming, even during school, and so I decided in 2003 after a natural hair networking event to start my own natural hair shop. NATURALREIGN WAS BORN!!
At this event, women were embracing their natural crowns and the up and downs they met along the way. Natural hair care was still pretty new around this time. Being natural and proud wasn't the IN thing at that time. But I was determined to assist and push the notion that we can care for our natural Crowns without sacrificing our health. I started in my home in Missouri City, Texas and eventually expanded to my own shop and then on to mobile services. I am a Lover of natural hair care and I'm so happy you've found our peaceful space on the Innanets.
On the search for natural ways to care for our Crowns, I learned natural hair care techniques under the tutelage of Taliah Waajid and Sister Isis Brantley along with years of professional trial and error. I became well-versed in techniques that were not damaging to the growth and health of our natural Crowns. I wanted to reach as many folks as possible so I created a class for the public called Natural Hair Love Lessons. I taught online and at the SHAPE Center in Third Ward, TX. Classes will be available again Oct 2022!
I became a Certified Holistic Health Consultant and Certified Reiki Master in 2009. With the Holistic certification, I began formulating products that were plant-based, vegan and culturally influenced. I coupled my Reiki training along with my natural hair care knowledge and provided not only stellar natural hair care but holistic health all in one service.
I am learned in numerous holistic modalities such as Shiatsu I, Iridology, Vegetarian and Vegan Nutrition, Chakra Therapy, Color Therapy, Crystal Therapy, Holistic Health, Reflexology, etc.
